Unlike other passions of mine, art was totally unexpected! It came like a hot breeze on a winter night. I was drawing with my little cousin and I was around 12. My drawing turned out really well for someone who barely scribbled. My mom was very excited to see this development and got lots of art supplies and books for me. And a few months down the line I was painting the walls of my room with my hands and brushes. It was a total mess but a beautiful experience for me. I wasn’t very forthcoming as a child and art really helped me express myself and along with it came confidence. Having no guidance, I developed my own style of painting— flawed but mine. I love experimenting with my art, photography, and design and I love it because it never failed to surprise me!

While photography too became something more than just capturing the beauty of light, capturing a moment, or stealing away a memory-- it was about the way it made me feel. The excitement to capture a moment and welcoming the million ideas and thoughts that exploded in my head. What's exciting is the feel of holding my camera in my hand, the feel of it swinging along with my movements, and above all the power it give me; the power to manipulate what my eye can't always see, and the ability to capture those million ideas and emotions in one picture. Something about all this that makes me confident and strong!
